Bermuda's Rugby Classic, at the National Sports Centre, is basically the Seniors World Cup, allowing ex-international players to represent their country in a high-class competition. It features 11 international matches over the course of the week, including a women's international.
The first World Rugby Classic took place in 1988, with teams from England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the United States. New Zealand began attending the next year, and have proved to be strong challengers in subsequent years. In 2004 Australia returned after an 11-year absence.
The event starts with a street party on the Saturday, with the games beginning on Sunday and ending on the evening of the following Saturday.
