Ischgl is one of the larger resorts in Austria, with more than 200km of prepared pistes between 1400 and 2900 metres above sea level. Part of the huge Silvretta Region, the resort includes the largest snowboarder's fun park in Europe.
Most of the runs connected to Ischgl are above 2000 metres, so there are fantastic snow conditions. In the lower areas, artificial snow machines provide a fun run down to an aprés ski haven in the town. Many freeriding possibilities, excellent powder and fantastic jumps make the area a hot ticket for snowboarders (try the Paznauer Taja).
The winter season in Ischgl plays host to some top events - the season opens and closes with a Top of the Mountain Concert (29 November and 2 May). In between don't miss the following events: Playboy Partyweekend (5-7 December), Queen of the World Finale (13 December), Ischgl Mountain Christmas (26 December), Shapes in White (12 January) and the Top of the Mountain Easter Concert (13 April).
