The hills are alive with a different sound of music this spring, as the Alpine resort of Bad Gastein eschews Maria's warbling in favour of soulful rhythms at Snow Jazz Gastein.
Ski huts, hotels and jazz clubs host a series of concerts over nine days. If the quality of the line-up doesn't take your breath away, the altitude certainly will: performances take place 2200 metres above sea level!
Highlights of this year's festival include percussionist Pierre Favre, the Moutin Reunion Quartet and Kashu featuring Shakir Ertek at the festival's Jazz Brunch.
