The Roxy Pro Women's Surfing Festival takes place at Phillip Island in the State of Victoria. The stakes are high - the winner receives a top round seed to the Roxy ASP World Championship in July.
The event is part of the World Qualifying Series (WQS), and a total of A$40,000 prize money is up for grabs.
The World Qualifying Series is open to all surfers, with around 50 worldwide events throughout the year for both men and women. The top echelons (those with the most points) - 44 men and 15 women - make it to championship status and compete on the World Championship Tour.
