Australia's largest celebration of Celtic culture takes place in Portarlington, on Victoria's beautiful Bellarine Peninsula. Music, dance, poetry arts and crafts are all on the menu.

In 2008, the long list of performers includes The Go Set, Ploughboys and Claymore. A workshop programme allows visitors to uncover hidden talents such as "Irish Fiddle" and "Gaelic Singing".

The festival's opening ceremony usually begins with a church service and dignified lantern procession - so if you can't make the weekend, try and make it with a camera to see the streets fill with lights.
