The Central Market can lay claim to being the heart and soul of central Adelaide. Trading since 1869, it has become a vast emporium devoted to all kinds of food and beverages. The recent influence of Asian cooking makes its presence felt here with a section devoted entirely to produce used in Asian cuisine, such as pak choi and Chinese broccoli.
