This must-see event at the Racecourse and Rodeo Grounds in Boulia consists of three nights and two days packed with thrilling entertainment, including camel races. The race highlights are the Quarter-Mile Flyer and the Camel Cup.
The fun starts on the Friday night as people gather. A steer ride follows a novelty camel event, which the organisers promise is always good for a laugh, while Saturday sees the qualifying heats for the big races. Meanwhile, along the trackside, entertainment includes the afternoon's Ute Muster, tug-of-war competitions and kids' entertainment. Saturday ends with more music and a spectacular firework display.
Sunday sees the racing finals - and with a prize pool of over A$25,000 there's a lot to race for. Sunday's two main races are followed by closing speeches and prize presentations in the early afternoon, while food and drink are served in the evening.
