There are wilder, more deserted beaches to the south of the island, but head to Antigua's Dickenson Bay for fully-equipped fun for all the family, and stretches of gorgeous white sand to boot. There is also a thriving industry in weddings at the popular luxury resorts of the beach, if you fancy an exotic location at which to tie the knot.
Dickenson Bay boasts incredibly calm turquoise seas and clean white sands, making it particularly attractive to families with young children. At the centrally placed Halycon Cove Hotel you can hire watersports equipment - jetskiing, waterskiing and parasailing are all available, as well as windsurfing lessons for beginners and intermediates. If you are into the latest craze of kitesurfing however, you will need to get yourself east to Jabberwock Beach.
Resorts-wise, the luxury Sandals chain and Siboney Beach Club both have hotels on the beach. Both cater to the needs of couples carried away by romance, and the wedding trade booms at each venue.
